On community and giving

I have been quite absent from my blogging life lately.
Things are just a little bit busy at the moment.

I have not been visiting any of the lovely blogs that I follow and I apologise if I have not responded to any of your beautiful comments in this space.

I will return soon.

For now, I just wanted to share something that inspired me at our school fair yesterday.

We stepped into the art exhibition yesterday.

The work done by the Montessori children was beautiful.

We had a look at the work done by the preps (5 and 6 year olds) in Annie’s school.

The work is entitled “Our friends”.

What struck me, other than the beautiful artwork that was created was how many of the preps drew Annie in their pictures.

Annie drew herself.

And so many other friends drew her too.
I was really touched by how many little people, my little person has impacted.

She is so kind, loving and giving.

And all her friends chose to draw her.

It made me think about community.
Giving back.
How when we give of ourselves, we get so much in return.

Annie gives so much of herself.
And in turn, she is so loved.

I bought someone some cheese the other day. She is new in the country and is missing the food from home. She has yet to find some cheese that she likes to eat. I know of a cheese that we love and that I thought she would love. So I bought it for her. No big deal. Sohail took it to her at his office.

She was so grateful that she bought him a book to say thank you. A book that has inspired her.

Some cheese.
Given from the heart.

In return,
an inspirational book that will touch the heart.

When you give, you get so much in return.

My little Annie gives so much.
And she is not even aware of the impact she makes on people.
Because she just gives.
With no expectation for anything.

What an angel.

Give something to someone today. Your time. Your effort. A piece of chocolate. A phone call. A hug. Send some light.

It will come back to you a hundred times over.

Give from your heart.

Blessings to you.

beautiful thoughts.the sad thing i've noticed is how surprised or even a little uncomfortable people are when you do something unexpectedly nice for them. they feel they must thank you profusely, or do something in return. i think acts of kindness just aren't common enough.do kindness expecting nothing in return, is the way i journey on.hope you and yours are well if busy. 🙂

You are truly blest to live in such a community. I loved looking at each painting – Annie sure is special and loved. She is reflecting your blessed self and Sohail's. A delightfully uplifting post. Thank you. Love Katie x Sending eternal oms with nothing expected in return 😉 om om om…

You must be so proud of Annie and the person she is becoming to have such a beautiful soul. I do believe what you put out into the universe is what you will get in return and Annie gives lots of love and in return she is loved. xo
